EXULTATE VISITED ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH IN TULANG KUNING - PARUNG
On Sunday 19 September 2010 Exultate sang in the mass led by RD Endro (from Mardiyuwana Printing House) in St Yohanes Baptista Church at Tulang Kuning - Parung. The church itself can be called a "tent church" because it is a real tent. The local church has not got a building permit for their own church. For Exultate, it was the first time to sing there. Before it, Exultate had ever sung in a mass held at Lebak Wangi Restaurant complex... when the liturgical activities in Parung Parish were still held there.
Exultate could sing well although eight of us could not join for several reasons. The problem was the sound of the organ which was not loud... It was an old organ... However, Sheila could play it skillfully.
After the mass, we spontaneously agreed to have brunch at Lebak Wangi Restaurant... Unfortunately Mas Mian had gone home earlier so that he missed this moment. The gathering and the brunch were fun for us... We chatted, we talked, we shared stories... we enjoyed the food: friend fish, karedok, coconut ice, sambal tempe penyet, sayur asem and so on and so forth... It was great.
At about 11 we left Lebak Wangi Restaurant for Bogor...

ECCLESIA DE EUCHARISTIA
Father Ben reminded all participants to learn more about Eucharist and put it as the peak and the source of life. Sacrament of the Eucharist is given to us so that we can be united with God in reality.
Father Driyanto gave new perspectives on the Eucharist according to the Canon law. Liturgical activities and other things related to them are based on rules and regulations and can be accounted with the Bible, the traditions, the Church documents, and the writings of Church's fathers.
We are all sent to encourage everyone to give more attention to the Eucharist liturgy so that we can get the fruits of the presence of God.

EXULTATE'S 16TH ANNIVERSARY GATHERING
Before the gathering, Exultate had to serve in the Cathedral at 9.00. Led by Father Benyamin Sudarto, the mass ran well and Exultate could sing quite well too. Coincidently we had to sing gregorian ordinarium (missa de Angelis).
After the Eucharist we went to Keboen. The idea to have such gathering actually came from Bapak A.J. Radjino. He is also the one who had an idea to make new uniforms for Exultate. As everybody has known, the late Ibu A.K. Radjino was the founder of Exultate. So far Pak Radjino has supported Exultate to continue the spirit of the late Ibu Radjino to serve the Church.
During the gathering, we shared stories, feelings and ideas. It was a happy moment although not all members could attend this event.

EXULTATE NEWS JUNE-JULY 2010
For the last few months Exultate has lost some members because they moved to other places or become busy with their new jobs and activities. Mbak Ika moved to North Sumatra; Parnamian Johanes moved to Jambi; Sheila has been busy with her new job; some others have been on their holidays or other activities.
In August 2010, Exultate will celebrate the sixteenth anniversary... There will be a gathering. In this opportunity, Pak Radjino would like to invite all Exultate members and ex-members to gather to celebrate. We are now preparing for it.

EXULTATE GATHERING JANUARY 2010
Before we left for the site, we helped Santher Choir for the mass at the Cathedral at 9.00. After the mass, we gathered at Lippo bank parking lot. Then we moved in a convoy to the site. It took about 40 minutes as it rained quite heavily during the journey. The road was good, the view was good, but it rained so that some places were covered by fog and clouds.
The gathering started at around 11.45 with lunch. We had great menu such as grilled fish, pork satay, chicken satay, soto, noodles, karedok, fruits and drinks... Some of us had also provided fruits and snacks...
After that, Pak Simon Supratman (our leader) led an evaluation meeting. He invited us to share experiences, tell complains, make suggestions, share criticisms, and so on. There were some things to note from those activities.
First, about existence.
Exultate has existed since 1994 and has contributed a lot in the Cathedral. Exultate is a family choir... it is not an exclusive choir... it is open for everyone to join... All members so far have admitted that they find "a family" here in Exultate. We committed to embrace and continue this identity as part of our life.
Besides, we are reminded of being a choir with concerns on ethnic music as part of inculturation in the Catholic Church. Exultate should revive the study and practice of ethnic music for liturgy purposes.
Second, about regeneration.
Exultate must be a choir which provides opportunities and chances for its members not only to take part in singing but also to improve individual skills to be conductors, soloists, psalm singers, organists, leaders and so on. To reach this, some rolling is needed.
Third, about time for practices.
As BMV Choir also use Saturday to practise, Exultate will start the practice at 18.30 and the practice will last till 20.30 every Saturday.
Fourth, about commitment.
Exulate commits to be a better choir. Exulate is ready to learn. We are ready to be criticised. We are ready to cooperate with other choirs and parties. We are also ready to chage... to be better.
Some members could not join this gathering as they had other things to do. Ibu Trisnawati went to Jambi as her grandson was hospitalised. Mas Parnamian Johanes was sick (but he still provided grapes for us). Mbak Yanti joined a Christmas celebration in Wilayah Bogor Tengah.
The gathering finished at 17.00. It was a great moment. We were very happy.
In this blog, I would like to thank everyone who had taken part in the programme and also to those who supported it.
EXULTATE 2009
What I can say about Exultate in 2009 is that Exultate enjoyed numorous moments of meetings, practices and assignments. Enjoying? Yes. I know there were a lot of chalenges and obstacles but we enjoyed them. We did and faced them with big hearts. Even we embraced them as part of our life. What I felt was that those were not easy. There were also moments when I, as one of trainers and choir conductors, felt sad because my friends missed practices without notice. I know they were busy and I could not stop them from doing their business. Nevertheless, they should have told me or Pak Simon about their absence.
December 2009 was a busy month for Exultate. We took part in BMV Choir as well, even we became one of the motors there. But the most difficult happened in the end of the year. It also happened to other choirs and to our parish. Many of our members were on holiday out of town. Meanwhile, religious services at churh, especially eucharists celebrations, must go on. We can understand how difficult it was for Mbak Linda to organise the assignments at the Cathedral.
Exultate took part in BMV Choir assignment for Christmas Eve Eucharist (24 December 2009 at 17.00-19.00). Later, Exultate helped Santher Choir on 25 December at 7.00. Then, we sang for New Year Eve 2009 Eucharist. It was held at 18.00. Father Benyamin Sudarto and two other priests led the Eucharist. The next day, 1 January 2010 at 8.00 Exultate sang during New Year Eucharist in the Cathedral as well.
Well, those are part of our service. The good thing was that many people supported and helped Exultate during those assignments. For New Year Eve mass and the following day's mass, some people from other choir helped Exultate. Pak Thomas Gunawan from St Caecilia, Mbak Elis Titut from Sindangbarang and other kind singers helped Exultate. In this opportunity I would like to thank them for their support and help. May Jesus bless and guide them always.
